Your admission that evil thoughts enter your heart even during prayer hit home with me. I feel like a failed Christian many times, and don't believe at times that I should even be teaching a Sunday School class with the sinful thoughts that enter my mind. I have begun to try to read the Word whenever temptation looms. I pray that will help me too.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13639235.post-5849364126583706702007-05-28T00:27:00.000-04:002007-05-28T00:27:00.000-04:00Temptation will come, but it is easily displaced w...Temptation will come, but it is easily displaced when I begin to pray or sing praises to the Lord.Sista Calahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08490376459710128024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13639235.post-37235658886239700482007-05-17T17:06:00.000-04:002007-05-17T17:06:00.000-04:00Thank you all for the encouragement!Thank you all for the encouragement!Brad Williamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00197301845256854051noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13639235.post-41321964736693414682007-05-17T13:48:00.000-04:002007-05-17T13:48:00.000-04:00Let me be the 6th one to say Amen!Let me be the 6th one to say Amen!St. Leehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01238671101561121436noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13639235.post-22840950325110870092007-05-17T10:25:00.000-04:002007-05-17T10:25:00.000-04:00Well said, as always...Well said, as always...Lisa Spencehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12990706355525884593noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13639235.post-60800745376556354072007-05-16T15:02:00.000-04:002007-05-16T15:02:00.000-04:00Willpower cannot conquer sin; only faith can. I feel like the principles that you enunciate here are absolutely vital for helping believers to "fight the good fight of faith" when it comes to "putting to death the deeds of the body by the Spirit".

I've always been encouraged as well by the example of the temptation of Christ. What weapon did the Son of God Himself use in His battle with the tempter? "The sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God"! Surely in Christ we see a master swordsman at work in giving us an example of how to defeat the temptations we encounter.

Thank you again for your thoughts here.

ghAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
