Look, there is no reason for me to be a Crunchy Critter on the Ecosystem. While I may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, I am certainly working harder than that. While I find that the Ecosystem is highly untrustworthy, I still feel in my flesh that I should have more links than I do.
Let me lay it out for you. I started this blog for several reasons. Let me list them for you:
(1) To encourage my fellow Church members throughout the week.
(2) Because writing helps me learn.
(3) Because I found out that Tim Challies and others get free books through blogging.
I believe I am fulfilling 1 and 2 perfectly fine as a cruncy critter. However, I jealously and zealously want to fulfill number 3. So help a brother out. Link me and boost my stats so I can stop spending all my money on books. My son needs to eat. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go read Out of the Silent Planet that I had to pay for but should have gotten for free. Bottom line: Link me, you link scrooges. Thank you for your participation. You may now return to your regularly scheduled programming.

Oh, quit ya whinin'!. I've been demoted from Marauding Marsupial to Slimy Mollusc since quitting the blog and coming back.
I suppose I am following some mysterious evolutionary law of thermodynamics.
In any case, all I can say is this: How the mighty have fallen.
Dude, I think you're getting rooked. But hey, let's keep things in perspective.
1) TTLB does not measure quality.
2) Perhaps if you are the least Blogger on earth you'll be the greatest Blogger in heaven? (I know it's a stretch, but you inspired me w/part 3 of Expiation/Propitiation).
Verification word is orucxs--what you're going to make if you don't get more linkage?
I linked you long before you linked me, Brad. I think you should stop worrying about the links and concentrate on the content. Here's some advice.
1) Put up some lighter posts. You know, I think the title, Jesus Loves Everyody Equally And In The Same Way is still available for a post title.
2)You should also clown people. That's always good for a laugh.
3)Finally, talk more about my gentleness and humility. I enjoy that.
Follow those three steps and you'll be on your way to blog stardom!
So, Jeremy, you're suggesting 1)truth, 2)humor and 3)fiction? Sounds like a winning formula!
;-)
Free books?
How? Where?
Actually, Wes, I was going for, 1)falsehood, 2)anger, and 3)my ego.
Brad, you could also dress up as your favorite Star Wars hero and put some beady eyes on your face. :)
I'm willing to do a mutual blog link.
God bless,
Jim
Okay, even though your whining is somewhat Turkian, this wiggly worm will link you; you've got some pretty good references.
IF you peruse my place and IF you don't see anything that makes you toss your cookies and IF you feel so inclined, then I wouldn't turn down your reciprocity.
But you would need a new category for me: Guys who aren't nearly as smart or interesting as they think they are.
Oh yes, I forgot. I won't link you unless you delink Doxoblogist.
Why's everbody hate me?
You were preordained to be hated?
Doxo,
I don't hate you, man! I linked you and everything.
Buggy,
Look, Doxo linked me without a link from me, so how can I de-link him now? And yes, the Turk inspired this pathetic plea. It worked for him, didn't it?
Wes,
If you provoke Darth Doxo, he may pull out the choke grip on you. Or worse, the finger tip lightening bolt trick.
Yeah, but it's so much fun! I may be visiting his church in June (depending on how the drive goes), and I want to see if I can get him to rescind his invitation. ;-)
All in good fun - I hope it is taken as such...
BTW, I've had a link to you on my blog since I began it, probably netting you a good 2 hits every six to eight weeks. No need to thank me...
I already linked you, since it seems you saw through my delink doxo or else bluff.
Other things to do to get more links (seriously):
1) Do what the other guy said and post light stuff in addition to the heavy stuff. People are more likely to visit if they're not met every time with long, deep posts (remember, many are reading surreptitiously from work and only have a couple of minutes here and there).
2) In your posts, pay homage to others. Stuff like, "So and so (LINKED) wrote this thought-provoking post over at his blog, and I'm going to comment on it ...)"
3) Periodically have posts where you write about and link other sites that have posted things you've enjoyed.
4) Expand your blogroll. People can tell from their sitemeter if others are coming from your blog, and then they're more likely to visit and add a link to your site to theirs.
5) Gratuitiously insert the words "sex" and "Paris Hilton" into your posts in order to attract Google searchers that might not otherwise visit (just kidding!).
6) Put some ladies in your blogroll! I feel like I'm visiting a boy's club every time I stop by here.
7) Get onto the Blogdom of God or another one of the groups of Christian bloggers out there. (I'm not sure how to do that, but I think it's a TTLB thing).
8) Stop worrying. Imagine all the hours of people's lives that have been wasted, looking at sitemeter and wondering why more people don't like them. Tsk, tsk.
Waterfall,
I feel properly chastened. I will follow your guidance and owe my blogstardom to you. Actually, I sort of owe my start to you anyway. Have I forgotten my roots?
The mardi gras article and especially your "fightin words ala Luther" posts at the Founders blog were enough for me.
Yes, it worked! There will be a theological and exegetical (I hope) battle in Virginia. Who's going?
Even So...
